Radiation Therapist

The Radiation Therapist is an essential member of CMMC's radiation oncology treatment team!

Duties for the Radiation Therapist include:

• Performing accurate delivery of prescribed radiation therapy under the direction of a Radiation Oncologist, using a variety of complex techniques and equipment.
• Operate machines, such as linear accelerators, to deliver concentrated radiation therapy to the region of a patient's tumor. 
• Performs radiation therapy procedures on all patients including pediatric, adult and geriatric patients.
• Maintains daily records and documents technical details of treatment administered.
• Understands use of all treatment accessories.
• Maintains a thorough knowledge of CT Simulation techniques in CT Simulation.
• Coordinates with the radiation oncologist and physics staff to insure proper positioning and measurements for planning and calculations.
• Understands the function and utilization of therapy treatment equipment.
• Is familiar with all equipment in their work areas as to include function, emergency shutdown procedures, warm-up procedures, and usage as it applies to the radiation therapy patient.
• Able to complete patient setup, calculations and treatment on emergency basis.
• During down times will assist in general radiology doing X-ray and CT.
• Must be graduate of an accredited school of Radiation Therapy.
• State of Montana Licensure required.
• Registered ARRT
• CPR Certification
• 2 years of experience preferred.
