The Instructor reports directly to the Chair for the Allied Health Department with classroom and clinical supervision provided by the Surgical Technology Program Director. Duties include clinical instruction and supervision, classroom instruction, and instruction within the skills lab. Must be a Certified Surgical Technologist with current certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) following graduation from an approved program. Must be recently employed as a Certified Surgical Technologist for a minimum of three (3) years. Experience as a Surgical Technology Instructor preferred. Experience teaching, public speaking, and Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred. Desire to work as part of a team. Position is security sensitive and subject to Texas education Code 51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information.
