POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides service, information and aid to the patients, guest, staff and physicians of the University Health.
- Protects life and property of patients, visitors, staff and physicians on all property owned, leased, rented or otherwise under the jurisdiction and control of the University Health.
- Prevents crime, suppresses disturbances, investigates criminal offenses, and arrest offenders.
- Responsible for enforcement of all criminal laws, University Health policies, rules and regulations to ensure the safety, welfare, and protection of patients, guest, staff and property within the area under the control and jurisdiction of the University Health.
- Exercises independent judgment.
- Promotes the University Health's Guest Relations Policy.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Associates Degree in Criminal Justice, or High School Diploma/GED and 4+ years of equivalent experience. Four years of relatable experience required.
- Must meet all requirements for qualification as a certified peace officer in the State of Texas, and must have completed a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) approved police academy program.
- Intermediate peace officer certification required, and hospital experience is preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
- TCOLE license in good standing o Intermediate, Advanced or Masters Certification required o Mental Health Officer Certification required.
- New Supervisor Certification (TCOLE 3737) required o Valid Driver’s License
